Staying Connected

Rick Bartosik (ThM, 1973; DMin, 1991) let Dr. Greg Hatteberg (ThM, 1992; DMin, 2014) know that, like Greg, golfing is his favorite sport because it keeps people out of the water!

The New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Dallas, where Paul Brown (ThM, 1982) has served for the past twenty-two years, recently voted to sell their property and relocate to Sunnyvale, changing their church name to Trinity Presbyterian Church. Please join Paul in praying for God’s grace and blessings as their church relocates.

Denis Keith (ThM, 1985) recently completed a DMin from Northeastern Seminary. He focused on the impact of coaching in relation to developing spiritual and emotional intelligence.

David Tyree (ThM, 1989) retired from Steamboat Bible Church in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, in August 2024.

Ted Rogers (MACE, 1997; MABS, 1999) is now a four-time Amazon International bestselling author in addition to being a senior pastor, missionary, and seminary executive director/provost.

Dr. Greg Hatteberg (ThM, 1992; DMin, 2014) and Alumni Representative Dale Burke (ThM, 1979) were able to take a trip to Hawaii, where they encouraged alumni living on the islands. We’re grateful that Greg and Dale could be an encouragement to our alumni all the way out in Hawaii! [Left to Right: Stephen and Ju Lynn Stinton (ThM, 2018); Rick (ThM, 1986; DMin, 1995) and Martha (MABS, 1992) Stinton; Andrew (ThM, 1993; PhD, 2003) and Lori (MABS, 2000) Spurgeon]

Olya (MACE, 2002) and Oksana (MABC, 2005) Verkhohlyad wish to thank everyone who has prayed for them and to ask for continued prayers for Oksana, who had brain surgery with a stroke following the surgery. Olya is teaching online while moving to better care for both her elderly mother and her sister.

Janae Ingram (Ward) (MAMW, 2018; MACE, 2023) has been actively serving as a spoken word artist with a passion for creating meaningful content and mentoring fellow creatives. She released her first EP on Open Heart Poetry; published her first book, Open Heart Poetry Continued, in 2024; partnered with Kharis Media to produce a music video directed by Grace Kelly (MBTS, 2021) for the EP titled Jeremiah; and received first place for Best Music Video at the Denton Black Film Festival. It has been a blessing to watch God open doors for Janae to share her faith, creativity, and storytelling.

In Memory

Robert (Bob) Trefry (ThM, 1968) passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Born on March 15, 1942, to Arthur and Hazel Trefry, Bob grew up in Medford, Massachusetts. He received a degree in psychology before pursuing his ThM at DTS. After graduating from seminary, he spent the next forty years answering the Lord’s call, serving as a pastor. Even after he retired, he stayed actively involved in the church, teaching Sunday school and leading in-home Bible studies. Bob enjoyed playing sports and had lots of hobbies, including reading, fishing, hunting, and investigating historic firearms, but his greatest interest was people. He loved people and actively kept in touch with them. His down-to-earth nature made him a natural friend to almost anyone who spent time with him. Bob is survived by his wife, Sylviatheir four daughtersseventeen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Terry Boyle (ThM, 1999; PhD, 2010) was born in Windsor, England. He lived there until 1981, when he followed a young woman named Rosie to TexasAfter migrating to Texas, Terry used his carpentry, event coordination, and musical experience to make a living and his carpentry skills to build a family home, quite literally, in Mabank. Terry came to know the Lord later in life, after which he pursued his degrees from DTS. Terry went on to pastor Skillman Bible Church until 2006, when Insight for Living recruited Terry to be the ministry’s voice for the United Kingdom. Terry, Rosie, and their son, Terence, moved to the UK, where Terry faithfully served until he passed away in December 2025. Terry’s voice rang out every day over the IFL UK broadcast. He filled pulpits across the country and wrote pastoral training curriculum for IFL’s international offices. He loved the Word of God and boldly proclaimed its message. Terry and Rosie celebrated forty-four years of marriage earlier in 2025. Terry adored Rosie, their children and their spouses, and their sweet granddaughter. He is profoundly missed by both his family and friends.
