Staying Connected
James Brown (ThM, 1961) still disciples men of the next generation.
Frank Beaty (ThM, 1972) continues teaching online for Moody Bible Institute. He and his wife, Judie, celebrated their sixty-first anniversary this last June. Their clan now numbers seventy-two people, with three more expected to join the family soon. Frank also coaches interim pastors through Interim Pastor Ministries.
Joselito Guerrero Villoria (ThM, 2005) and his wife, Erlinda, became grandparents for the very first time this year! They met their granddaughter, Eliana Grace, on May 29, 2025.
Robin Wieber (MABS, 2008) retired as the Pastor of Congregational Care from Grace Covenant Church of Austin, Texas, on December 5, 2024. Robin started working at the church as a Worship Pastor in 2000, transitioning to the Care Pastor in 2004, providing pastoral counseling, overseeing the church’s care ministries, and shepherding the flock. Robin and his wife, Debbie, look forward to traveling together and spending time with their four grandchildren.
Rebecca Knight (MAMW, 2018) and her husband, Larry, moved to Illinois last summer to be closer to their daughter, Kathy, to the delight of all three of their children. Rebecca misses her Texas friends but is happy to be closer to some of their family. She recently began writing devotionals for Lifeway. She also wrote and directed the Christmas play for her son-in-law’s church. She continues seeking out other writing and acting opportunities while caring for her husband, who has been struggling with some health concerns. Your prayers are appreciated.
Dan Heylmann (MACS, 2022) graduated from Liberty University with a DMin in Biblical Studies.
Fre Ghebreselassie (MAC, 2025) (left) graduated debt-free with her counseling degree without the support of a parent or spouse. She thanks God for what he has done. Her graduation, healthy body, and good-paying job are all evidences of his grace. She hopes to encourage other students, those who enroll in classes without the support of others or those who attend graduation alone, that God is good. We are proud to welcome her and Bekah McCrorey (MAC, 2024) (right) to the alumni family! (File: Counseling Grads)
After years of developing and piloting a trauma-informed care farm ministry, Jamie Tanner (MACL, 2019; DEDM, 2025) is now offering private training and consulting on trauma-informed care, nonprofit leadership, and care farming (www.hopeandtill.com). She is thankful for her DTS professors and mentors who encouraged and supported her as she pressed toward the goal God had set before her.
Events
Daniel MacArthur Heideman (ThM, 2006; PhD, 2015) was born to Phillip and Sharon Colantonio Hiedeman on February 7, 1975. At the age of six, Daniel realized he was a sinner in need of the Savior. He trusted Jesus at a Good News Club hosted by his mother, and throughout his life, Daniel walked with God, enjoying a personal relationship with him because of what Jesus had done for him.
Daniel married Heidi Regier (MACE, 2006) on June 3, 2017. He was a loving and deeply devoted husband. Heidi often found him reading his Bible before leaving for work. His favorite book was Ecclesiastes. He also loved the book of Psalms. He taught English to refugees, taught philosophy and world religions, conducted research for Spoken Worldwide, served in the DTS Registrar’s Office, and cared for patients and families as a chaplain at Presbyterian Hospital and in Patient Access Services at Baylor University Medical Center. Daniel persevered through health challenges, including two cancer diagnoses. After his diagnosis, Daniel chose to sacrificially help his wife realize her dream of becoming a nurse because he wanted her to be able to provide for herself if he could not beat the cancer.
Daniel relaxed by watching the OU Sooners. He loved to run and play with his nieces and nephews. He had a beautiful baritone voice and a hidden talent for beatboxing. Daniel’s parents and sister entered into eternity before him, and he is survived by his wife, Heidi; his brother and his family in Virginia; and his sister and her family in San Antonio. Even though Daniel struggled to speak, the last Bible verse he shared with Heider shortly before entering into the presence of the King was John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
