Garland Dunlap (MABS, 2014) has been pursuing work in education, vocational discernment, and writing. In 2026, he published his debut novel The Earth Remembers, and continues to engage readers through his Substack, Faith Amuses, where he reflects on faith, purpose, and the stories that shape our lives. You can learn more at faithamuses.substack.com and books2read.com/TheEarthRemembers. 

Ken Newberger (ThM, 1985), with his PhD in Conflict Analysis & Resolution, has worked for the last quarter of a century in the conflict resolution field. At first, he worked with churches — pastors, staff, and members — in conflict. Then, in 2013, he began working with couples locally. He now works with those anywhere in the country seeking to rebuild or repair their marriages. John Minnema (ThM, 1982) serves as senior pastor at Hawthorne Gospel Church in northern New Jersey. This year Hawthorne Gospel Church celebrated his fortieth year as senior pastor and over one hundred years of church ministry. Over the years, DTS has had a significant influence on their ministry, particularly different speakers who have come to speak at their Summer Bible Conferences. Two of his sons, Jonathan (ThM, 2016) and Jacob (MACL, 2019), are DTS graduates as well. Jacob serves as a pastor over student ministries and will be moving into an associate pastor role in the fall. 

After more than twenty years in higher education administration and a season in the EdTech industry, Reid Kisling (ThM, 1997) has stepped into the role of Chief Financial Officer and VP of Ministry Support at the North American Baptist Conference. Reid and his wife, Carrie, remain active at Hope Fellowship (an NAB church re-plant in Hillsboro, Oregon, where Reid was a founding elder). He also continues to serve as president of ARM Ministries, supporting missionaries globally. 

After graduating in 2018, Zac Tsai (ThM) and his wife, MacKenzie, moved to Oklahoma, where Zac served as a Youth Pastor at Life.Church and developed a passion for reaching the next generation, equipping leaders, and leading students to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Zac and MacKenzie later moved to California, where Zac served as a Campus Pastor at Saddleback Church. They are now at Grace Bible Fellowship in Keller, Texas, where Zac serves as lead pastor and an elder.
