Staying Connected
Howard Eyrich (ThM, 1968) delivered the commencement address for the class of 2025 at Birmingham Theological Seminary, where he has been teaching for thirty-two years. He encouraged the graduates to finish faithfully, especially regarding their marriages, children, and ministries.
Benjamin (Benji) Meyer (STM, 1971) and his wife are heading into their twentieth year of ministering to their retirement community, Samaritan Village Retirement Community. Benji celebrated his ninetieth birthday last February, and he and his wife will celebrate their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary this July. They are privileged to share the good news with their neighbors.
Robert Henry Osburn (ThM, 1978) works part-time with Wilberforce International Institute, mentoring Christian Internationals to apply a Christian worldview to problem-solving in their homes and communities. He also teaches courses on comparative worldviews and bridling corruption. He and his wife, Susan, live with their second son and his wife and their six children.
Dale (ThM, 1979) and Becky Burke took Denise and Noel (ThM, 1980) Enete out for a meal. You’ll see them sporting their brand-new alumni hats. Noel and Denise pioneered the Spectrum Bible application, and they lead trainings for the application, teaching people to study the Bible inductively with the Spectrum Bible app.

Dale Burke (ThM, 1979) led a one-day seminar for local church leadership in Austin, Texas, based on his award-winning book, How to Lead and Still Have a Life. Dale teaches the same material annually as part of a DTS DMin course. Dr. Scott Barfoot (ThM, 1999) also attended the event.

Kiev Theological Seminary in Ukraine is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary! Several alumni have served at the school, beginning with Anatoliy Prokopchuck (ThM, 1995), who served as the school’s president from 1995 to 2005 and now serves as Chairman. Other alumni include Konstantin V. Goncharov (ThM, 1996), the Academic Dean from 1996 to 2011; Richard J. Perhai (ThM, 1990), the Academic Dean in 2005; Jason K. Gupta (ThM, 2003), Professor and Director of the World Missions Department from 2007 to 2022; and Oleksandr Dudka (ThM, 2016), an instructor in the Biblical Studies Department since 2015.

After serving for a decade with CAM International and Camino Global in the Guatemalan highlands, the Lord has moved Brandon Scott (MACE, 2005) and his family to serve at an urban church plant in Oklahoma City.
Lito Lucas (ThM, 1997) has served as the pastor for PICF Church for twenty-seven years. He’s also the Asian-American Multicultural Consultant of the Florida Baptist Convention and the President of the Filipino Southern Baptist Fellowship of North America (2023–2027).
Katie Yodkins Stein (MACE, 2009) loves teaching the Bible, American Sign Language, and English literature at The Paloma School, a Christian school in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Her husband, Nathan, works at a company owned and operated by believers, where he speaks truth to and shows love for his coworkers and customers. Katie and her family just moved into a nice home with a bigger yard, where they’re growing with their kids, chickens, rabbits, and their garden. God is good.
After seven years of counseling, Alfred Horstman (MABC, 2017), a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, has opened a practice, specializing in trauma and grief, pornography dependency, marriage and relationships, cancer issues, and abusive relationships.
In addition to consulting on African Bible translations since 2009, Timothy Bachmann (MABL, 2019) now trains Bible translators in Brazil. Timothy also teaches at Word of Life in Belem, Brazil.
David Marshall Walker (ThM, 2019) and his wife recently moved to the United Kingdom to work with the local church, youth, refugees, and immigrant communities in the city of Birmingham. They hope to reach Europe by multiplying disciples and growing Christ’s Church.
Emily Whatley Alderman (MACE, 2025) just joined the alumni family. She is married to Will, a lawyer for the United States Marine Corps. Emily served as a preschool administrator and girls’ minister during her studies. She now leads a ministry for military wives.
Jesse Armstrong (MAAE, 2025) just completed a successful eighteen-year career in law enforcement, working for the Kentucky State Police. He wrapped up his career, serving on the Southeast Kentucky Violent Crimes Task Force based in London, Kentucky. Jesse earned Post 7 Richmond Detective of the Year in 2012. He was also awarded the Kentucky State Police Citation for Bravery in 2010. During his law enforcement days, Jesse’s most meaningful work took place at First Baptist Church in London, Kentucky; he will now serve in full-time ministry there. He’s excited to see what God has in store for FBC London. Jesse’s wife, Robyn, and their son, Jack, remain his primary calling. When he’s not watching Jack’s sporting events, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and traveling.
Emmanuel Iheke (MACL, 2025) now serves as the Executive Director of UN-ASSOCIATED, a nonprofit, multimedia platform, helping young adults cultivate their identity in Jesus Christ through digital media and live events.
Kris Linenberger (MACL, 2025) now serves as the Connections Associate at Grace Covenant Church in Austin, Texas, where his family connects people to Christ in the church and in outdoor settings.
