Gary Hauck (ThM, 1978) has been performing a one-man play on the life of American patriot Patrick Henry, portraying the founding father in churches, schools, organizations and theaters for the country’s 250th Anniversary. During a recent performance, he was interviewed in costume on WOODTV Channel 8 in Grand Rapids, MI. Patrick Henry was strongly influenced by preachers during the Great Awakening. Gary’s script is available on Amazon, and he is very thankful to Dr. John Reed, who set him on the path of a ministry in drama.
Michael Ortiz (ThM, 2008) has helped DTS form a partnership between DTS and Evangelical Theological Seminary in India. Derrick Sledge (MABS, 2014; DEdM, 2026) is the founder and president of Charis Ministries. In June of 2026, Sledge retired from serving in public education. Presently, he maintains a private practice as a therapist with Christian Counseling Associates in Plano, Texas. As a seasoned therapist, he has helped hundreds of people find solutions to their problems for nearly twenty years. Whether serving others as a therapist or a minister in his church, Sledge strives to equip and encourage people to live out biblical truth and serve the Lord Jesus Christ with excellence!
Brian Theurer (ThM, 2020) was commissioned as first Lieutenant on August 25, 2025, graduated from Officer Training School on October 24, 2025, and graduated from Basic Chaplain Course on May 15, 2026. He is stationed at Scott AFB.
Amy K. Justice (ThM, 2017), Nick Dano (ThM, 2017), & Dane Miodov (ThM, 2017) were at a USASOC Religious Support Team event at Ft. Bragg, NC.
Bertram E. Moore (ThM, 1982) recently moved to Ashby Ponds in Ashburn, VA, to be closer to his family. He got to enjoy a family reunion over the July 4th weekend, celebrating his and Mary Ann’s 50th wedding anniversary with all family present (including a new grandson-in-law, making the family total now twenty-four).
After serving nineteen years as rector at Holy Cross Church, Sugar Land, Texas, Scott Thompson (ThM, 1991) will retire on September 1, 2026.
Louis Trinca-Pasat (MACS, 2022) carried the cross 69.66 miles in Jamaica and Mexico while empowering eleven people who joined at various points through the journey to share the Gospel. He saw fifty-three people give their lives to Jesus. He has preached at Mountain Hope Center Church in California, trained the men of La Casa Ministry in Evangelism in Riverside, and joined Christ’s Reward in training (a group of students in evangelism) in San Diego.
An endowed faculty chair in honor of John Perkins (ThM, 1984) has been established by Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. Eric Redmond (ThM, 1997) has been selected as the inaugural chair holder. You can read more about official story here: https://www.moodybible.org/news/2026/john-m-perkins-chair/
Mark (MABS, 1992) and Autumn Bogner (ThM, 2023) have been traveling all over the states recently—Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, Wisconsin—but are soon headed back to Papua New Guinea with Ethnos360 Aviation.
Ron Gannett (ThM, 1975) visited Amanda and Brian Stout (ThM, 2008), who use horseback riding to share the gospel.
Colin Green (MABS, 1988; DMCE, 2008) visited and encouraged some of our awesome alumni, Scott Kirby (ThM, 1978) and Stuart Poteet (MACE, 1998).
