Tom Schmidt (ThM, 04)
Tom shares several lessons about what ministry does (and does not) entail.
Scot shares how he is using the skills from Bible Exposition courses in his current ministry.
I learned an important lesson that I try to pass on to today’s students: God made you. He made you unlike anybody else. He gave you gifts to use for the benefit of His Church.
The most treasured lessons I learned at DTS were related to investing in character more than competency—focusing on “who we are” as opposed to “what we do.”
I feel that the Lord has taken all the experience and training from my many years and the experiences and knowledge from DTS to prepare me for this very special calling with East-West Ministries International.
I ask the Lord to direct my words, silence, gestures, and messages to glorify Him. Additionally, I humbly request His grace and mercy when I am wrong.
As I think back to my days at DTS, my thoughts go to my spiritual formation group—the friendships and shenanigans we shared.
