In Memory

Paul David (David) McNeel entered the Father’s presence on November 22, 2024. Born into a Christian family, David came to know Jesus at a young age, but it wasn’t until later that he started pursuing the Lord. David married his wife, Linda, and joined the Air Force in 1966. He served in Vietnam as an aerial photographer who also rescued drowning pilots via helicopters. After that, Dave attended Western Bible College and Dallas Theological Seminary. To support his family, especially his son, Greg, who struggled with a genetic disease, David took up a career in trucking, which provided for his family.

Hal Lindsey (CTH, 1962), an author and minister, went to be with his Savior on November 25, 2024. Hal came to know the Lord as a tugboat captain on the Mississippi River. He then attended Dallas Theological Seminary, where he was drawn to prophesy as the prophets and their words attested to divine authorship. He released his first book, The Late Great Planet Earth, which became the bestselling non-fiction book of the decade in 1970. It was later adapted into a film starring Orson Welles. He continued to write a slew of other best-sellers. Hal hosted The International Intelligence Briefing on the Trinity Broadcasting Network from 1994 to 2005. He then started The Hal Lindsey Report in 2006, continuing that program until 2019. You can watch Hal Lindsey Presents on Daystar, His Channel, and HalLindsey.com. His life and work continue to touch many. He is survived by his wife and their daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Rev. Lawrence (Larry) R. Katz (ThM, 1965) of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, passed away due to injuries sustained in an auto injury in Gettysburg on November 30, 2024.  Larry was married to his wife, Jacqueline, for sixty years. After graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary, Larry served as the Senior Pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church in Massachusetts and Barcroft Bible Church in Virginia. He also ministered as a pastor at The Gospel Center in York, Pennsylvania and at Grace Fellowship, where he ministered for twenty-two years. Larry also served as a board member for Good News Global for forty years. He is survived by his brothers, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His two children, Daniel Katz (ThM, 1991) and Laurie McIntyre (MACE, 1989), also graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary. Larry modeled what it looked like to live, love, and lead like Jesus.

JoAnn (Jody) Hardy Curran passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024. Born to loving parents, Jody grew up in New Orleans and later attended Louisiana State University. In 1964 she married the love of her life, Neil T. Curran (MABS, 1994). They recently celebrated sixty years of marriage. Shortly after their wedding day, the couple moved to New York City, where they had two children, before moving back to New Orleans. Jody came to know the Lord later in life, when her brother, Ashton, shared the gospel with her in the 1970s. She then shared her faith with her husband, and later she began speaking with women’s ministries all over the country. Neil and Jody also led evangelism trainings with Evantell, and they became the chair-couple for the Family Life Marriage Conference. They moved to Dallas in 1991 for Neil to pursue his degree. After his graduation, Jody became a pastor’s wife, leading Bible studies and discipling women throughout three different churches in the Dallas area. She and Neil also served with a marriage ministry and founded a seniors’ ministry. Jody is survived by her husband, Neil; their children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Jody’s relationship with Jesus shaped her life, building a legacy of faith, love, and friendship cherished by all who knew her.
