As we have evaluated the potential at our Washington D.C. campus (so called although it is actually located in Manassas VA), and our strategic relationship with McLean Bible Church, we believe our recruiting potential continues to be high.
We began to meet weekly for breakfast at a local restaurant doing a modified Synthetic overview of a book a week. In the middle of the summer my other two sons joined us and we were together for three years.
It’s wonderful having close friends that are counselors who are not afraid to ask the tough questions.
As my shoulders shook, kindness fell from his lips. “The war must have been hard.” All I could do was nod.
Prof. Hendricks’ and Dr. Mark Bailey’s Bible Study Methods class enabled me to open my Bible to any passage, make an observation, interpret the text, and apply it to my life and to others’ circumstances.
It was not until I came to DTS that I fully recognized that creativity was a gift from the Creator Himself, and that we, being created in the imago dei.
It was great to see men learning the Word and willing to play ball to be out in the world.
DTS gave me the tools to handle scripture with both confidence and humility, because while I know how to get around the Bible very comfortably, I also know that God remains mysterious in many ways. And I’m OK with that!
Having memorized Prof’s Bible Study Methods, I realized that observation, interpretation, and application were also useful in studying the congregation and the community.
And thank God DTS stands strong in solid biblical doctrine in an antagonistic world culture.
